We are delighted to announce the appointment of three new trustees to our board:
- Helen Causley, Deputy Director of Inquiries and Investigations in the Department of Health and Social Care
- Peter Gilheany, charity director of Forster Communications, a specialist social change PR agency
- Lara Patel, Deputy Director of Children’s Services at Oxfordshire County Council
The new trustees were recruited in a process that involved members of Pause’s Advisory Group, which is made up of Pause graduates who work with the board of trustees and national team to make decisions about how and why Pause does things as an organisation. Along with the rest of the board of trustees, Pause’s three new trustees will work closely with the Advisory Group to improve Pause and the Pause Programme.
Nat Sloane CBE, Chair of Trustees at Pause says:
“I am so pleased that Helen Causley, Peter Gilheany and Lara Patel are joining the Pause Board. They will bring invaluable experience to our Board at an exciting point in Pause’s development. They demonstrate a profound commitment to the women working with Pause and to Pause’s mission to support women to create positive change in their lives. On behalf of everyone at Pause, we are delighted to announce their appointment.”
Helen Causley says:
“I am delighted to be joining the Board and am looking forward to working with Pause practices across the UK and the women they support.”
Peter Gilheany says:
“I have been a long-term admirer of the work and approach of Pause and I am really honoured to have been selected as a new trustee. The area they work in is complex and challenging but hugely important because it makes such a profound difference for women who are often living incredibly difficult lives. I can’t wait to get started and support the team in everything they are trying to achieve.”
Lara Patel says:
“It is an absolute privilege to have been appointed as a Trustee of Pause. I am lucky enough to chair the local Pause board and have seen the real and tangible difference that Pause makes every day and how truly life changing it is for the women. I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to work alongside fellow trustees, the national and local teams and especially the Pause advisory group, to support Pause on its exciting journey of growth and development.”
