Pause announces three new trustees

09 November 2020

Pause announces three new trustees

Pause is delighted to announce the appointment of three new trustees to their Board. The new trustees were recruited in a process that included women who work with Pause and will join the Board later this month.

The three new trustees are:

  • Khatun Sapnara, Circuit Judge, East London Family Court and Kingston Crown Court
  • Vicki Nash, Head of Policy and Campaigns at Mind
  • Nimal Jude, Policy Advisor, Office of Chief Social Worker

Nat Sloane CBE, Chair of Trustees at Pause said:
“On behalf of the Board of Pause, I am super enthused to announce the appointment of three new trustees. The three women joining the Board will broaden our skills and experience in key areas for the organisation, as well as the diversity of the Board. Khatun Sapnara is a senior family court judge; Vicki Nash is an experienced campaigner with extensive knowledge about mental health; Nimal Jude has local and national experience in the field of adult social care. We had a really a strong field of candidates though, these three women really excelled, and I’m delighted they will join us.”

Vanessa, a woman who works with Pause and was involved in the recruitment of the new trustees, said:
“I am thankful I was given the opportunity to be part of the recruitment of the trustees. Hopefully this will lead to bigger and better changes for Pause.”

Colleen, a woman who works with Pause and was involved in the recruitment, said:
“It was an honour to help recruit the new trustees for the Pause – They each, individually, have their own drive and passion for why they want to bring change for grieving mothers. I’m so excited for what the future holds for Pause.”

Khatun Sapnara said:
“I am delighted to be appointed as a Trustee at Pause. I am committed to the valuable work the organisation does and hope to make a positive contribution to it. I look forward to working with all my highly skilled colleagues, in active partnership with the women whose lives we seek to help and to improve for the future.”

Vicki Nash said:
“I’m delighted to join Pause as a Trustee. I’ve been a long-time admirer, both of the organisation’s efforts to tackle such a profoundly complex issue, and the way it treats women with compassion, respect, and as individuals with their own unique set of challenges that have brought them to Pause. I’m incredibly excited to support Pause during the next stage of its journey.”

Nimal Jude said
“I have followed the Pause journey from the very start and have heard first-hand from Practitioners and Pause graduates what a positive impact it has. I am looking forward to building on the Pause Programme and the opportunity for collective creativity and coproduction at all levels.”

As the government announces its #Budget2021: ➡️The #UniversalCredit £20 uplift is welcome but should be permanent. ➡️ Good to see £19 million extra to support those experiencing domestic abuse. ➡️It is vital that all support is accessible and reaches those who need it most.
