Health and wellbeing concerns run through all aspects of Pause – from a trip to the shops to choosing where or indeed what to eat. A healthier and more active lifestyle is just one of the huge transformations Pause women undergo. However, with so many other priorities in life, it’s easy for fitness or healthy eating to take a back seat.
Doncaster practitioner Caroline picked up on her client Lydia’s childhood love of swimming as a hook to get involved in a new activity. Having struck up a free trial-period across 8 local swimming pools, Caroline is able to take Lydia and her partner or friend to any of the pools for free. In the first session, Lydia swam for over two hours, showing that for her, swimming is about more than just exercise, but a relaxing and therapeutic activity. When swimming Lydia feels she is able to open up to her practitioner and they have had many meanigful conversations in the pool. In addition to these weekly visits, Caroline has helped Lydia pick out a new swimsuit, and works hard to promote a healthy body image amongst all the women she works with. Lydia has now started to go to pool alone, which is a great step towards her increasing her independence.
