At Pause, we work alongside women to create positive change for people who have had children removed from their care.
Here’s how we learn from and listen to women…
Getting Involved
Getting Involved is our term for what is sometimes called ‘participation’ or ‘involvement’. We use it to describe any activity where women with experience of the Pause Programme are involved in decision-making that influences or shapes our work, with the aim of making things better both inside and outside of Pause.
We put women with experience of the Pause Programme at the heart of our decision-making. Working together enables us to learn, solve challenges and grow as an organisation.
Women with experience of the Pause Programme get involved in a number of ways:
- They make up the Pause Advisory Group, which helps our board of trustees and national team make important decisions about how and why we do things
- They co-produce creative projects, such as our podcast series Pause and Listen
- They shape our national campaigns and influencing work
- They influence local systems and services that work alongside Pause Practices
Peer Support
Pause peer supporters are there to help other women create change. We currently have a London-based group of qualified peer supporters who offer:
- One-to-one support for women on the Pause Programme
- Help with group activities organised by Pause Practices
The impact of women’s involvement
