Each Pause Practice is delivered by a partner in the local area, usually the local authority or a third sector organisation. A close partnership with Pause is maintained throughout the partnership, from initial set up and during operation, through operational and strategic advice, support and challenge.
Every Pause Practice has a National Practice Lead, who works with the Practice to ensure fidelity to the Pause Model and support the high quality of service within each Practice. They offer both support and challenge to develop the Practice and the staff within it. In essence, the National Practice Lead is the Practice’s critical friend. The National Practice Leads help to share knowledge and experience across the Pause network. We also use this to share best practice and evidence of system change across the sector and with those in local and central government.
As a learning organisation, we invest heavily in the ongoing training and professional development of those working in Pause Practices. We also use our various forums to share knowledge and experience across the Pause network.
In addition, Pause provides support at a governance level, with a seat on the local Pause Board.
