As women come to the end of the 18-month Pause programme, we know that moving from high levels of focussed support to less intense support can be a challenge. But we also know how much they have achieved during their time with us, and that the transition is an opportunity to reflect and build on this so that women can move on to have positive futures. This means it is crucial that every woman has the best possible transition towards the end of the programme to adequately support and sustain her on to and during the next phase of her journey.
Each Pause Practice offers a bespoke programme of ‘Next Steps’ support designed to help women to sustain positive life changes. The offer is tailored to the needs of each individual woman and each local area, but always works towards the Pause objective for women to take control of their lives. This means it is necessarily light touch and remains focussed on helping women to increase their independence.
Offers include drop-ins, group work, signposting, peer support and short 1:1 interventions. The support is as much about helping women to fulfil potential and aspirations as it is about meeting needs.
