Training resources for professionals
Here are some resources that you can use in your local area, to support professionals working with women who have experience of the removal of children from their care.
More Than What’s Written
This film was co-created by women working with Pause North East Lincolnshire. It is about the language that others – including professionals – use to describe them and their lives. This language became the narrative that shaped the way they were viewed and understood.
*Trigger warning – the film contains descriptions of domestic abuse and violence*
The film is being used locally within North East Lincolnshire, to open a dialogue about trauma-informed language. Alongside this, Pause has produced a booklet for professionals about the importance of language when working with women who’ve had children removed from their care and have experienced domestic abuse.
